Description

For demonstrating the molecular nature of magnetism in a solid either by direct observation of the model or by observing the image by putting it on glass stage of an overhead projector while it is magnetized under the influence of an external magnet.

Consists of twenty freely turning small compass needles about 14mm long, mounted on pivots between two clear plastic sheets. The needles hold a random orientation depending on earth’s and magnetic field. Under the influence of an external magnetic field the needles align themselves along the lines of force of the field. Base dimensions are (l x w), 120 x 80mm (4.7 x 3.1 inches). Packed in a cardboard case.
